Hanny's Bakery - markets

This page is all about Hanny's Bakery at markets. Whether I'm selling the Hanny's Bakery food range or the H.B design range.

We Made This Market - Friends meeting house, Brighton.

Set up and run by a friend, Claudia Thomas, held a stall at their first market selling my lolly packs and lolly boards.

Burgess Hill Garden Society - Christmas market

Made more craft items for this fayre, perfect time to for stocking fillers and small gifts. I made Christmas tea lights, seasonal bark pot-pourri pots, decorations and winter gingerbread houses. The gingerbread houses went down a storm with some lovely comments from the public.

Burgess Hill Garden Society - Spring market

Local Sussex market in Burgess Hill in March 2014. Sold a range of serving boards, jig boards and lolly boards.

All my wood I source as best I can from the UK however if not all the wood I buy is guaranteed from sustainable forests. English Oak is my favourite hardwood to use but I also use Cedar, Beech and European Oak.

Camberwell Collective tea rooms - Maida Hill

Collaborating with Camberwell Collective as I'm a recent Camberwell graduate, Hanny's Bakery will be with CC every Saturday 10-3pm at the Maida Hill market. This relatively new market has just launched and has already been a great learning curve. Our stand is abit different to others around us and is something Hanny's bakery continues to help and be a part of.

Pop down for a cuppa and cake every Saturday, Maida Hill Piazza, London W9 3EU.

We have tables and chairs to sit at made by members of Camberwell Collective as well as leather goods, ceramic ware and gifts as well as stunning prints.

Kitchen News...

This week it is all about the chocolate!

As I'm developing/altering my beloved Prop Lolly packs to a wider and younger chef audience, they'll soon be more adapted for chocolate lollies rather than the original boiled sugar varieties.

Not forgotten, my sugar varieties are still going but so that smaller, stickier hands can create edible props to play with, thought about keeping them to chocolate.

So, I shall now be posting some chcolatey recipes that I'll be working on this week.

This so far is my choco mood inspiration. YUMYUM

Plus a Shark Lolly Mould as I think its quite quirky.

Blossom Pop packs

Been working on my lolly packs.

Trying to look at different packaging solutions and also whats present on the current market.
This was my first start on the blossom packs and I made them in various colour ways as prizes for 'find the golden lolly' at my Sweetie Fair.

Sweetie Fair Decorations

The Sweetie fair is coming together nicely, just updated the sweetiefair2012.blogspot blog with whats going to be on offer on the day.

Raffle prizes are looking great, something a bit different to offer winners. Baking things and edible things to get everyone inspired and in the mood to conjure up their own sweet treats at home! Nothing difficult, all made for a range of abilities and budgets.

Ive made nearly all the decorations, including these ones below.

Saw some decorations in a shop window so thought I'd make my own. 3 cut out sweet shapes in coloured paper, must be quite thin paper, then sewn over leaving 4/5cm gaps and then sewing another. Once hung each sweet is pulled out making a more 3D fan effect.

Going to dangle them around the hall, mainly by the entrance and kitchen area.

sweetie fair 2012

Check out my new blog, devoted entirely to my up and coming event!

If Willy Wonka and Heston Blumenthal were to create a school fair then this is the type of edible stalls that I am producing!

Prop Lollies

Props lollies

Become the character you've always wanted to be, a naughty freckled nosed school kid, a fancy lady with her rosy cheeks or a long moustached cowboy!

The prop lollies by Hanny's Bakery allow you to play around with your sweetie lollies, adding a new playful element to eating and enjoying your sweetie treats!

Possible packaging idea.
All illustrations hand drawn then photoshopped to give more professional and colourful qualities.

The clay and fimo props I made to then vacuum form around for the plastic lolly moulds.

My peppermint prop lollies.
First batch using the new tray plastic moulds.
Came out a beautiful transparent green. The flavour was strong but not overpowering.

Two different moustache mint sugar lollies. Success!

Phoebe and Katrina modelling and eating their peppermint props!
